Luminaire/Aveneer/Solaris/Radiance Embroidery Club - Medford

We want to welcome our Brother Luminaire/Aveneer and Baby Lock Solaris/Radiance owners to this free club class. This class will teach skills using built in designs and lettering to create this personalized binder cover. Please call or come in to sign up. 

Embroidered Canvas Binder Cover

Supplies and Prep  

Note: fabric pieces are based on the 10 5/8” x 16” magnetic hoop, if you are using a larger hoop please increase the size of the fabric to fit more appropriately in the hoop.

• Exterior – 24” x 17” canvas or home decorator weight fabric (vinyl or cork work well too).
• Interior – 21 ½” x 12” cotton fabric
• OESD Fuse & Fleece – 24” x 17”
• Shape Flex (SF101) interfacing – 21 ½” x 12”
• OESD Perfect Press Cloth
• 90/14 embroidery needle
• Polymesh stabilizer
• Isacord embroidery thread
• 60 wt bobbin thread
• 10 5/8” x 16” (or larger) magnetic hoop
• Frixion or chalk marker
• Metrosene polyester thread
• Bobbin filled to match lining fabric
• 2 – 12” pieces of ½” or 1” elastic
• Small scissors
• Embroidery foot
• Sewing foot and foot holder
• Wonder clips or pins

Project Preparation – Please complete prior to coming to class:

• Center and fuse fusible fleece to the back side of exterior fabric
• Center and fuse SF101 interfacing to the back of lining fabric
• Bobbins filled with appropriate thread (one for embroidery, one for construction)
• Please make sure your machine has a new needle installed prior to class
• Using a frixion pen or chalk pencil mark the center of your exterior with a vertical and horizontal line
• Mark another vertical line for the center of the right-hand side of your exterior, this will be your front cover.
