Luminaire/Aveneer/Solaris/Radiance Embroidery Club - Medford

We want to welcome our Brother Luminaire/Aveneer and Baby Lock Solaris/Radiance owners to this free club class. This class will teach skills using built in shapes and quilting designs to make this adorable potholder. Please call or come in to sign up.

Custom Quilted Potholder

Supplies Needed:

  • Machine with embroidery module
  • Magnetic hoop will work the best for this project, minimum size 10 5/8” x 16”
  • Coordinating thread(s) – 50-weight for piecing, general construction, quilting, embroidery
  • Scissors for fabric – we recommend a pair of regular and pinking shears for this project
  • Measuring tape or small ruler
  • Fabric pen or pencil
  • Wonder clips
  • Seam ripper
  • Thread Snips
  • 80/12 Mictrotex needle or 90/14 Titanium embroidery needle
  • Embroidery foot
  • J foot (zig zag foot)
  • Left bi level foot for machine binding (SA104)

***If using Aveneer or Radiance and using your largest hoop please use cut instructions below, if using smaller hoop you can use less fabric/batting

½ yard cotton fabric for exterior (you will have extra on the length, but you will need the width)

½ yard cotton fabric for lining (you will have extra on the length, but you will need the width)

¼ yard cotton fabric for binding or 70” bias binding tape (or you can use extra from exterior and lining)

Insul-bright – at least 18” x 27”

2 pieces cotton batting – at least 18” x 27” each

****If using Luminaire or Solaris:

Fat Quarter OR ½ yard cotton fabric for exterior

Fat Quarter OR ½ yard cotton fabric for lining

¼ yard cotton fabric for binding or 70” bias binding tape

Insul-bright – at least 12” x 18”

2 pieces cotton batting – at least 12” x 18” each

Note: if you are not using a magnetic hoop and are using the standard hoop, you will need to cut your batting/insul bright pieces to just fit inside your hoop so just the top and bottom layer of fabric are caught in the hoop. This can be a great project to use up those smaller pieces of batting.

Please remember that there are no returns or refunds on classes. If you cannot attend class, you are welcome to send someone in your place. Due to copyright laws, books and patterns cannot be returned or exchanged.
