Edge to Edge - Medford

This class is for students who have been working on their curved and pieced quilt tops with Vickie. In this class you will use your embroidery machine to complete the quilting for your completed quilt tops. Students who have taken: Posh Wreath, Posh Jack-O, Bat Moon Rising, and Giving Tree will be eligible to take this class. Please call the store to sign up. 

SUPPLIES:

Edge-to-Edge Quilting on Your Embroidery Machine 2nd Edition book 
The designs available in the book downloaded to a USB in format for your machine

Basic embroidery supplies
75/11 embroidery needle (titanium)
90/14 embroidery needle if using metallic thread
Tear away embroidery tape
¼” to ½” double stick tape
Tweezers
Filled bobbin (2)
Machine in good working order (have you changed your needle recently and cleaned the fuzz
out?)

SPECIFIC SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THIS CLASS:

Both your standard hoop and a DIME magnetic hoop in the corresponding size
Poly mesh cut away stabilizer (You need two full pieces to fit in your standard hoop. Do
not use scraps and piece it.)
Embroidery thread of your choice for quilting on the top. I prefer Wonderfil Deco-Bob
or Invisafil as they are light weight and don’t really show. I like to have a thread in my bobbin
that works with my backing fabric. If you are using an embroidery only machine, watch the
weight of this thread. It would be a 90wt. If you are using a combination machine, you should
be able to use a Wonderfil Deco-Bob or a standard 60wt embroidery thread.

PREPARATION:

Make sure your batting and backing are a minimum of 4” on all four sides. I would prefer more
for ease of hooping, but 4” will work. I would like a batting that is fusible on one side to help
keep layers in place.
