Amelie Scott - E2E Core Class - Bend

Do you dream of a long arm but only have an embroidery machine? With this class you will learn how to do edge-to-edge quilting with your embroidery machine. Ten quilting designs are included in three sizes.

Supplies:

  • 1 yard small print fabric for the quilt top
  • 1-1/4 yard of fabric for backing. Backing and batting
MUST be bigger than the top! Leave the selvage on.
  • 1/3 yard binding fabric - cut four 2.5” x WOF strips
  • Quilter’s Dream Request craft-size batting
  • Water soluble marking pen
  • Micropore tape to hold paper templates
  • Embroidery thread for quilting that you can see well
    on the top fabric
  • Bobbins
  • 505 Temporary Spray Adhesive
  • 75/11 or 80/12 embroidery needle
  • USB drive
  • Thread snips or embroider scissors.
  • 1” x 6” Creative Grid Ruler
    (required for magnetic hoop)
  • Long ruler (24” preferred, in case markings fade)
  • Hoop with a 5.5 x 9.5 inch stitch field
Before Class

Trim the top fabric to 34 x 40 inches.
Mark the fabric -- use a water-soluble pen to:

1. Draw a line down the middle of the length.
2. Draw a line 1/2” from the top edge.
3. Draw a line 6.5” from the center line, on both sides.

Make a quilt sandwich -- lay the backing fabric on a
table, wrong side up. Center the batting on the backing
fabric (it will be smaller, so make sure it is centered).
Finally, center the marked top fabric on the batting.
Backing and batting MUST be 4-5” larger on all 4 sides.

Spray baste or pin the layers together. The 505 brand is
odorless, which is why I prefer it. If you do pin, please
only place a pin about every 6-8 inches.
Paper template -- Cut out the template

We will be taking about a 1/2 hour break mid-day. Feel free to bring a lunch!
